In my opinion the pros of living in a big city are the facilities of big hospitals with a lot of specialities, lots of restaurants, entertainment and good universities. But on the other hand we have traffic jam, stress, pressure, poverty, slums and others bad things that happens in big cities. The pros to live in a countryside are the quality of life, no stress, no trafic jam. Is ours dreams! But on the other hand in the hospitals don't have all of specializations like in big cities, so if you have a cancer for example you need go to seach a big hospital in a big city for treatment. And you don't have lots of facilities like in big cities. I think the inhabitants of big cities suffer a lot with pollution, noise, violence...and most of them will develop some psychological illness and maybe some of them move for small cities search quality of life. If I have some opportunity to live in a coutryside doing what I like, I won't think twice! My stress will be less than now, the distance between my work and my house will be smaller, so I will have time to do some gym and others things that I like but now I don't have time to do.
Living in a big city can be a pleasant experience or a intense trauma, depends how the person faces this lifestyle. For me the key to get a good life in a metropole is understand that is impossible to fight against the city problems and, instead of complaining all the time, the person has to learn to take advantage of the many choices offered by the city. The main negative points of living in big city are: traffic, crowd places, violence, lack of green spaces, expensive lifestyle. On the other hand, there are positive issues, like cultural diversity, huge entertainment offer, better job opportunities, good health and educational systems. Although I believe that is possible to have a good life in a big city, huge concrete jungles like Sao Paulo and New York will be not so common in the future. People are very worried about the stressing way of these cities and are searching for a slow pace life in the suburbs. It's more likely in the future these big cities become just workplaces and not residential areas. If there is a good transport system linking the suburbs to the downtowns, it is possible to have a good balance between these two worlds. Despite the fact I know it's a healthier way of life, I couldn't live in the countryside. Maybe because I'm so used to have a urban lifestyle and I've never lived in a different kind of environment. To be honest, I think if I moved to a far place from a city, I would miss the mess and problably I would return in a few months. Luciano Rocho - conversation class
1)The good thing about living in a big city is being feasible to a great variety of products and services, most of them not available in the countryside, as well as to a boiling culture life and a more resourceful medical service. The bad thing is being inevitably forced to cope with the stress of everyday life and the fear of violence.
2) I believe that, in the future, living in a megalopolis will require a broader collective consciousness from their inhabitants, otherwise life in such huge cities will cease to exist. Districts and neighbourhoods will probably be more like small cities, providing the whole range of requirements regarding human life, such as food, medical assistance, entertainment and all sorts of goods and work. There will be green areas inside and in the surroundings of those districts, for the purpose of having quality air and enshorting the distance between the producer and the consumer. Technology, knowledge and financial resources will be applied for the greater good, instead of an individual whim, since people will be simpler and less demanding in their personal wishes as consequence of a broader collective consciousness.
3)I would rather live in the countryside provided that it would be close to a resourceful center.
Big cities allow you to have good jobs, all sort of entertainment, lots of extra curricular studies and friends. On the other hand they require a price to offer these benefits. You certainly will live constantly under pressure to mantain yor job, will spend part of your life in a traffic jam, will face the violence and sometimes, for lack of time, will put your family in second plan. The stress caused for this kind of life can cost your health. To live in megalopolis like New York, London or São Paulo, requires a quantity or adrenaline and after a certain time you need a pause to evaluate your quality of life, to mesure the consequences of so intense life and if your financial earn is the only thing that is important. I think that is not necessary to leave the confort of a urban life to have quality of life, just stop for a while to put your life in equilibrium weighing the pros and cons and sometimes think of renouncing part of your activities to acquire life.
Well, actually, I like to live in a big city because I get accostumed to. As I always lived in Brasília, I couldn´t afford to live in a small city anymore. Flávia.
I´m not intend to live in the countryside. I´ve been studying law for about five years and six months, so, I´m looking forward to finding a new job in a hurry and, in conclusion, I am not interested in working at a farm or something like that. Flávia
Talking about a new job, it is some of the issues in a big city today: to discover a new opportunity of a job. As people all over the wcountry are coming to Brasília, they´re taking that opportunities from us. Flávia
We have a lots of offers to buy anything that we want, like; services and cultural options. The social enviroment is more flexible, we are more acceptable for the differences of others cultures in the world. In the other hand we are more stressfull, wasting a lot of time in traffic, we are exposed to urban violance, the costs are more expensive than small cities. The inhabitants of these megalopolis are more sensitive to some disease generated by stressfull live. In the small cities we have a very calm live, with nothing to do, no stress, no rush time, shopping centers, any kind of emotions.
Living in big cities may have more con's than pro's. The most con aspect is the stress of urban life which include the traffic jam, big population, pollution, violence, pressure at work, etc...but on the other hand, we think that the big cities have many pro's like the facilities near by you, oportunities, places to visit, a good range of restaurants, the best schools, the best hospitals and so on... In the future this cities tend to be bit by bit harder and stressful for the most of the inhabitants. We think that living in the countryside may be a good option in the future, because is more calm and less violent then.

I think that life in the urban cities will be COOL !!!!! Julia :)
Living in the countryside would be a great experience of contact to nature and simple life. The perfect situation would be having a urban life at weekdays (enjoying all the oportunities and entertainment it offers) and having a countryside house to enjoy the weekends in a peaceful atmosphere.
I think If you live in big city you have more facilities than in the countryside. On the other hand you have more problem with polution, stress, violence and heauthy. Live in megalopolis cities in the future I think that will be more danger than now but If the people has more responsability I think the problem will be solved and megalopolis cities will be nice to live there.
Who lives in a big city has a dream to living ins a small city! Who lives in a small city dream with... This conflict show our unhappiness and can be a light over the doubt to live with quality. First at all, what life quality is? Information or freshair? Individuality or be part of a comunity? The big city make us tired and proud at same time, the small makes us relaxed and anxious.
