  1. For sure the key to solving traffic problems is a better public transport system, because if so, people would leave their cars at home and the streets would be less full. People would read more, because they'd have time to do that. And would be more calm, for sure because of avoinding driving. Nowadays traffic is a source of stress and people get more and more nervous because of that.
And there is another advantage about leaving cars at home. There will be less polution in the enviroment, and in a long time people will breath better.
So, the solution for having less traffic in big cities, being less nervous, reading and studying more, and breathing better is a good public transport system.

  2. Maybe the traffic problems will never be sold. I think that a better public transportation will help people just in big cityes, like in São Paulo for example. There people get almost five hours to get back from work, and the government try to improve the bus center and the subway but it doesn't work. At the rush time, it's impossible to come home or to get out from your house. Maybe the solution can be build new streets, but even if thye do it, i don't think that it'll work.
However the public transport system can get better for the ones who doesn't have car, they'll be glad. But for the traffic problems, I don't think it will be a solution

  3. The documentaries programs nowadays have been showing that the key solution for public transport is build more subways arround the big cities to avoid traffic jam.
For people who can't be user of subways at least tray to use a biofuel automobiles.
Most of big developed cities, like New York and Tokio, encorage the population to use bicicles instead of cars.
Based on the coments above I totaly agree because I think that is the first step to decrease the problems of traffics.
After some years we can see a good result and a better way of life.

    I agree with this coments

  4. First of all, i tottaly agree that we have big problems with transportantions in our cities.

The traffic in cities like Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte are really strong. This cities have no current solutions to solve problems whit their hard traffics. I've been in São Paulo yesterday and i saw how noisy is the downtow during de rush. It is so crazy. I saw a lot of cars and bus togheter and some substations were so crownded. I can't wonder living there.

In my view, the problems in the big cities in Brazil is related to no appropriate planning, to no public policies and a little bit because of no enough budget. I don't agree with the idea of big number of the cars is the mainly problem. Cars are necessaries and the peolple are earning much more. Of course they can buy more cars. It is natural.

I'd like to see the federal government solving our problems with the public transport system, decreasing the noises and increasing the number of trains. For example, in Brasilia, where the metro system is new, it may to be in real trouble as well as. In my opinion, it happen just because the city has much more users than trains.

So, the key to solve the traffic problems is in the hands of the all members of goverments.

  5. To be continued...
Of course the key to solving traffic problems is a better public transport system, but, the problem is to find out what can be consider as a "good public transport system".
We must understand that peolpe are never completely satisfied whatever are done with the public transport. Unfortunately, in some poor country, there are no resourses enough to supply the demand for them.
However, public authorities have the duty to increase the number of buses, thinking about people´s right, because is rather have many buses in the street than every people using their own car. This manner avoid pollution.
Talking about bus, politicians should improve the quality of tranports very much as well once many people don´t enjoy making use of bikes, which would be better for nature. miga

  6. A better public transport system is a good option to solve the traffic problems.
If all big cities get a good transport system, the people of the city will avoid using the cars, and the cars are the big problem in the traffic. Many people only use the car everyday because the public transport is horrible, and it's dificult to change the confort of your car to a very unconfortable bus or train, and sometimes sharing this transport with a lot of people.
Howerver, the public transport system need to be better even if it don't solve the problems of the traffic, because who don't have car need to be confortable in a bus too.

  7. I have to agree with it. Nowadays, buy a car is easier than in the past two decades and due to inadequate investments made by the Government in public transport system, a lot of people prefers to buy a car than to get a bus or subway.
In an European country, as England, the public transport works like a switzerland watch. In London, we can know how many minutes a bus will take to get in the bus station. As a result, we can go by subway or cab if it will be delayed. After these two options we can think in our car.
However people use to think in their car before any other option in Brazil. I gues it is a cultural behavior. No one is accostumed to have a good public transport and do everything to not take a bus.
In my opinion, if public investments raises in this area, it will be possible to change it in the the peoples mind.

  8. The major cities are increasing the number of its citizens and transportation is becoming a very serious issue. The number of private cars grows faster than the roads support causing traffic jams all over the city.

In addition, private vehicles are not good for the environment, causing air and sound polution.

The population choose car instead of public transport system because it is expensive and not satisfatory. Beyond that, the buses and the subways are often crowded and dirty.

In brief, the most viable option to solve this problem is a better public transport system. The government should invest a lot in good alternatives to car so people would prefer taking a bus or a subway.
